From Memories to a Story Worth Preserving

We Make the Process Simple, Personal and Meaningful

Creating a Memorial Tribute Film or Legacy Documentary may seem overwhelming — especially when photographs, videos and memories span a lifetime.

That's where we come in.

Stories Well Told guides you through the process from beginning to end. We help gather, organize and shape your memories into a professionally produced story that reflects the person behind the pictures.

1. We Begin With a Conversation

Every great story begins by listening.

We'll talk about your loved one, your family, the upcoming service or event, and what you hope the finished film will communicate.

You don't need to have everything figured out. We'll help determine the right approach, length and production style for your story.

Your story. Your memories. Your vision.

2. You Gather the Memories

Next, we'll help you identify the photographs, videos, music and other materials that best represent the story.

These might include:

  • Family photographs

  • Photo albums

  • Home movies

  • Cell phone videos

  • Favorite music

  • Letters and keepsakes

  • Newspaper clippings

  • Awards and memorabilia

  • Historic family photographs

Don't worry if some photographs are old, faded or damaged. We can often restore, repair and enhance treasured images before incorporating them into your film.

3. We Discover the Story

This is where Stories Well Told is different.

We don't simply place photographs on a timeline and add music.

We look for the story.

Childhood. Family. Friendships. Marriage. Career. Faith. Adventures. Accomplishments. Humor. Traditions. The little moments everyone remembers.

For Legacy Documentary Films, we can also conduct personal interviews with family members and loved ones, capturing their voices and stories in their own words.

4. We Craft Your Film

Now the storytelling begins.

The goal isn't simply to make something beautiful.

It's to make it feel like them.

5. You Review. We Refine.

Before your film is complete, you'll have an opportunity to review it.

We'll work with you to make appropriate adjustments and refinements so names, photographs, music and important moments are presented the way your family wants them remembered.

It's a collaborative process — and you're never left wondering what's happening next.

6. We Share the Story

Your completed film is prepared for your Celebration of Life, memorial service, family gathering or private viewing.

Depending on your project, we can also provide professional recording and live streaming so family and friends who cannot attend in person can still be part of the moment.

Afterward, your film becomes something even more important:

A family heirloom.

A story that can be watched, shared and passed from one generation to the next.

More Than Pictures. More Than Video.

Technology gives us remarkable tools.

But technology isn't the storyteller.

After more than four decades in broadcasting, live production and professional video storytelling, Brian Rhea brings a producer's eye and a storyteller's ear to every Stories Well Told project.

We use technology to serve the story — never the other way around.

Let's Begin With a Conversation

You don't need to know exactly what you want.

Tell us about the person, the memories or the story you'd like to preserve. We'll help you determine the best way to tell it.
